Our big Army (client) team was in the office this week, including LTG Freakley – who gave an address to our entire office…

We also had some fun team building activities…

I spent some quality time playing on the floor with the kids this weekend…

I discovered our washing machine lists “blood” as the primary stain on the lid (does that seem weird to you?)…

I got the last of the rock border taken out of the garden and MOWED down the rest of the flowers. The “reclaim the backyard” project is coming along nicely…

Mr. Grant turned five years old! We went to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate…

And I dropped his birthday cake on the way back into our house…

A quick overnight trip to Washington, DC turned into a 48 hour adventure amidst cancelled flights and some drama at the hotel I won’t get into…

My coworkers creating a website…

A date night trip to the iSold it on eBay store! Yes, a physical store where you can’t actually buy anything…

A date night trip to the very first shopping mall – sadly more than 1/3 empty. Surreal…

After three years of asking, Qwest Dex finally ceased delivery of their phonebook spam to our house and the house next door…

Gray and I took Annabelle for a walk…

My coworkers covered my car in 100+ magnets…

Grant’s soccer team won their game 18 to 1 (and the 1 was a “friendly” goal accidentally scored by his team)…

Grant’s soccer pictures game, and the Facebook logo was bigger than his face on every page…

We played with Play-Doh…

Grant’s vacation bible school theme was Wild West, and he is highly enjoying his cowboy hat and bandana. We let him wear them out to eat. Then we picked out cowboy bedtime stories…

Father’s Day 2011 was a blast, with lots of quality time with my little bozos…

Annabelle is getting so big. Too big…

And I painted the back of our Hitch Haul fire engine red to increase visibility…

It was a good week.
Friday was Grant’s preschool graduation and end of year program at Schimelpfenig Park. He’s the one holding the “G.”

Here he is with his best friend, Michael.

Me and my boys.

Saturday was the Elm Street Block Party in my historic downtown Chaska neighborhood. Yet another special thing about Chaska is they have a Block Party trailer complete with tables, chairs and games your neighborhood can borrow for these events. So great.

Sunday my church, Oasis Church, met in Schimelpfenig Park for a service and family activities.

Fireman’s Lake was gorgeous.

Oh, and at least one stop at Tommy’s Malt Shop.

Two nights ago the new baby didn’t sleep. The. Entire. Night. Seven week old humans just do this sometimes.
My wife took the 10-2 shift, and I took the 2-7 shift. I got a tiny amount of worthless sleep. Suffice it to say, yesterday was interesting. But last night – oh last night she slept in four hour chunks, and I experienced glorious REM sleep….and a dream. A DREAM!
It’s been seven weeks without a full night’s sleep, and you reach a certain point in sleep deprivation when reality becomes surreal. You haven’t dreamed, so your brain starts doing weird things to rest during the day.
Sometimes I can’t speak. Literally words just don’t come out, or worse, the wrong words come out — like quoting song lyrics at the drive thru or reciting O Captain My Captain into someone’s voice mail.
